Disqus Comments

When I first got back into blogging recently and went looking around the internet for awesome new sites to visit frequently, I noticed most sites are using a comment system called Disqus these days.

I have to admit at first I didn’t like it at all. I hated having to sign up for (yet another) service to leave a comment on someone’s site. But after using it for a while now, and getting nice little messages in my inbox saying I have a reply to a comment I left somewhere, it sort of grew on me.

So that’s when I decided to see if I could use it for my own site too. I installed the plugin and exported my existing comments on WordPress to the Disqus system I’m all set to go. Which means you’ll now find the Disqus comment system with my posts! I will still have to tweak it a little bit here and there. Maybe stylize it a little more too, although it looks pretty good at the moment as well.

Yes it does mean you’ll have to sign up for it (if you don’t already have) if you want to comment here, but in return you’ll be part of a great community and it will make conversations more interactive.

I’m going to test out Disqus for a little while here and see if it really is better than the old system, but so far I like it better. You can even follow people on Disqus and discover new communities and websites, how cool is that?!

Let me know what you think of it, and if you’ve been using Disqus on your site for a while please let me know how you feel about it (I’m guessing good because you would have taken it down if you didn’t haha).
