Somewhere last week I finally got my hands on a remote control that would work on my dSLR. I use a Pentax so apparently it’s a little harder to get some accessories for it at times, but the local photo and camera shop had one in for me. I even got a sweet deal so I couldn’t be happier.
Of course this meant I had to go try it out during the weekend. Toys like that bring out the little kid in me so you can imagine I took some odd pictures in the process. So, off I went with my camera, tripod and remote. I ventured out to the field to gather my horses in the sand paddock (that’s why it looks like there’s only sand in the photos, they also have grass) for a small photo session, and as the good horses they are they stood perfectly still while I darted around them trying to get the right angles 🙄
I even managed to photograph myself while meditating, pushing the button with my foot, so you can’t see the remote. It took a little gymnastics but it worked. If you’re wondering why I just didn’t push the button; it’s a bit tough doing so when you’re sitting with your palms open in a mudra (to open the flow of energy).
And I -of course- had to try and catch myself in mid air, jumping. I told you it brings out the kid in me, but you got to nourish your inner child sometimes. Catching yourself in a photograph while moving and still looking reasonably presentable is a little hard than I thought, so that’s something to work on.
Below are some results of my camera play time. I don’t think they’re that bad, I have to practise a little more but that’s alright. I’m already thinking of fun things to do for next time.
Photobombed
I even managed to get photobombed by one of my horses. He’s always up for a joke and loves to check out everything. It could even have been a great photo if it wasn’t for him being so curious!

I think the photobomb looks quite nice too 🙂 I like spontaneous pics!
Thank you Silvie! I like it too in a way, it’s not a picture to frame but it is a very funny one and I’ll remember this moment and how it made me laugh with it forever!
You look so happy and peaceful! Love it.
Thank you, Jessica!
Oh I love this soooo much! I love horses. Yours are cute and I love that you got photobombed too. hahah.
yes horses are great! And mine are seriously mischievous all the time. A few weeks ago it was so hot and I refilled their water tank, they decided it was time play with water and soaked me in the process. I was dripping wet but I can’t get mad at them, it was hilarious!
